Crater Lake National Park is in southern Oregon close the the California border. You'll arrive via a rim road that climbs the forested surroundings and when you reach the summit you're greeted by an amazing pristine blue color like you've never seen before. The blue is a deep 1900 foot lake that sits in caldera of an ancient volcano and contains some of the purest water on earth. The rim rises about 2000 feet above the lake surface to create a breathtaking view. A picturesque Wizard Island is a cinder cone that rises from the waters.
